Carribean: Quayside building

I bought a made-up Superquick card building of a town hall, it will also pass as a quayside building, customs house or warehouse. I've based it on a bit of 3mm mdf with a covering of paved 'paper sheet'.

India: coming up (sometime ...)

The last of the English european units has reached the painting table. English infantry regiment no 39, the command is first, then to be followed by the rankers; the grenadier company is already finished. There are two command stand sets one for India and one for 18C europe for the unit to be a Fenwick battalion.

The outline plan to add the Indian allies is as follows:
1) Paint up the elephants I got ready a while back.
2) English ally - Bhaji of Bhovindi, some cavalry and infantry and artillery
3) French ally - Nawob of Tandoori, some cavalry and infantry and artillery
4) English and French sepoys

Carribean: Red Jack goes for Silver

Red Jack decided to keep clear of the shipping lanes for a while after his encounter with a british ship of the line, he heads for the american mainland to have a go at the Spanish Silver Train which still runs over the isthmus of Panama.

Red Jack has worked his way inland and intends to ambush the train on its run into Portobello, before it gets to the way-station of San Miguel.
---oXo---

The silver train halts for a rest, the offficers confer. They are usually met here by a patrol of dragoons from the way-station of San Miguel.
At the way-station of San Miguel the patrol is being assembled, the new officer in charge is taking his time ...
The commander of the silver train decides to press on as fast as possible ...with his scouts out in front ..
As they progress, the scouts notice some movement in the jungle, but are not sure what ..
The scouts come under fire from pirates in the rocks to their front and side....
The scouts push on as some of the regulars escorting the silver train move up at the double ...
The regulars form up and start exchanging fire with the pirates ....
The patrol has finally left the way-station, after hearing the distant sound of gun fire ....
More pirates appear at the rear of the silver train, they rush out of the jungle firing their pistols ...
The exchange of fire goes on between the regulars and the pirates in the rocks ...
The pirates have charged into the rear and flank of the the silver train, while pirates from the rocks have charged down hill pushing back the regulars. The rest of the regulars regroup ....
The pirates have success at the rear of the train and push back the regulars, and start to lead some of the mules towards the jungle ....
As the pirates lead more of the mules into the jungle, they hold off the regulars, meanwhile at the front of the train the regrouped reulars exchange fire with the pirates - the way-sation patrol has just arrived to join the fight ...
The pirates disappear into the jungle leading the mules away - they have taken over half the silver train ..
The withering fire from the regulars and the presence of the dragoons from the way-station, forces the rest of the pirates to retreat into the jungle - some of the silver train has been saved from the clutches of the pirates.

Carribean: A close shave for Red Jack...

An outing for my little ships, a trial run through of  "Broadside & Cutlass" ruleset ....

The pirate Red Jack with his ship the 'Saucy Sue' has joined forces with Henri Jaune (know as Yellowbeard due to his fair hair) in his ship the 'Hortense'. They set out to target ships in the merchant shipping routes. They believe they can deal with HMS Prinz Albert between them if it shows up.

Unbeknown to them Prinz Albert has returned to Jumeida after damage in a storm and the newly arrived HMS Leopold (64 gunner) has taken station protecting merchantmen.

---oXo---
Sail ho ! off the larboard bow.  Yellowbeard takes the lead in the Hortense with Red Jack and the Saucy Sue following in - as they close with what they think are three merchantmen

Hortense bow rakes the lead merchantman, Red Jack realises the third ship is not a merchantman and hangs back slighlty believing it to be the Prinz Albert
The lead merchantman is badly dmaged and drifts while the other makes headway with full sail. HMS Leopold gets between the pirate ships, bow raking the Saucy Sue and stern raking the Hortense ...
Red Jack steers the Saucy Sue away giving the Leopold an ineffective broadside as they pass, meanwhile the Hortense's is rigging is damaged and she has few holes in the hull -she is losing speed ..
HMS Leopold catches up with the Hortense and gives them a hard pounding ....
The Hortense sinks, lost wih all hands (food for the sharks) ....
As HMS Leopold reduces sail to help the damaged merchantman, Red Jack makes his escape in the Saucy Sue.

Caribbean: Pirates Raid Falmouth Port ....

With HMS Prince Albert patrolling the shipping lanes, Red Jack and his pirates are finding pickings slim; in order to top-up their supplies a raid is planned on Falmouth Port on the island of Jumeida.
---oXo---

A sleepy day at Falmouth Port, the locals go about their business
Red Jack and his  pirates land on the other side of the headland ..
The pirates cut through the jungle and move out into the farmland ...
As they clear the farmsteads they take a couple of captives ....
The pirates move into the port, the locals run for safety to the fort ...
The pirates start rooting through the warehouses for useful supplies to take away ....
A small herd of cows is rounded up by the pirates, (a nice roast for them tonight)
Some of the locals have armed themselves and make a stand at the end of the quay to hold of the pirates to protect the civilians, their accurate fire fells a few pirates ...
The civilians arrrive at the fort, the commander tries to assess the situation on the quay ....
Part of the garrison moves up to join the fight at the end of the quay ....
The pirates start to load up supplies into a wagon ....
The garrison re-inforces the locals, the pirates waiver ...
Some of the pirates have loaded supplies onto a small boat and make to leave the harbour, the commander of the fot order the guns to fire on the boat but they miss ...
Volley fire from the garrison troops clears the quay of pirates ...
While the garrison troops secure the warehouses at the far end of the quay, the locals with some help from mounted troops mop up the pirates ...
The pirates load up their booty and make a getaway (back to their ship) ...
